Communication Manager
The communication management machine is also called DPU. It has multiple downlink communication interfaces and one or more uplink network interfaces. It is equivalent to a front-end computer or a monitoring computer. It is used to organize the communication data of all intelligent monitoring / protection devices in a substation. After the aggregation, it is sent to the upper-level master station system (monitoring center background machine and DCS) in real time to complete the functions of remote signaling and telemetry. On the other hand, it receives the order from the background machine or DCS and forwards it to the intelligent series units in the substation, and completes the setting and closing of remote control or device parameters of each switchgear in the plant, and realizes remote control and remote adjustment functions. It should also be equipped with multiple serial interfaces to communicate with other intelligent devices in the plant.
